Whether it is the sun that has come out or the fact that snow is melting, I decided that we should start some seedlings for the spring. We have never had a garden but I thought it would be fun to be able to stroll into the backyard and pick some fresh veggies when we want.
So, I brought home Ace seedling soil, those brown pots that you plant in and some seeds. I learned a few things in our first trial at this. First, those brown pots tend to tip over when you are pouring in the soil which means dirt on your table...and if you have excited children, add that to dirt on the floor. Second, a 7-year old will try to put SEVERAL seeds into one pot. In this case, I have no idea how radishes grow if a dozen seeds are dumped at once. That being said, the kids are excited. They can't wait to see it grow and hey, if we get a few veggies, that is all that matters. It is the process that makes the memory, not so much the final product.
As they grow, I will try to post pics so you can see if we have a green thumb.
